I was here for a candlelight concert, location is of course very historical and nicely preserved. Although some of stars on the ceiling were crookedly mounted but that’s pure aesthetics. The ship is nicely preserved and feels authentic. Service was okay, but slow.

liked the hotel, but I found it expensive for what you get. We stayed for ASOT and paid over 500 euros for three nights. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. We opted for a room without a window since those were more expensive. I didn’t think it would matter, but it did affect me. Overall, the room was clean, but the carpeted floors didn’t look very fresh. The staff, however, were very polite and helpful. The hotel is a bit far from the metro, but there is a bus, and they also offer a shuttle service during the day. Since it’s a ship, expect some settling noises throughout the day. I didn’t mind, but it’s something to be aware of.

We didn't stay in the hotel but we decided to visit the SS Rotterdam because it's actually free to board and wander around much of the ship. Which is quite something if you've never been on an ocean liner because they are surprisingly large. However better than this you can also pay for an audio-guide tour and we decided to sign up for the full package. This means that you get to explore both the upper decks, including the bridge and captain's cabin, before descending into the hull to see the enormous engine room. So for the first part we wandered somewhat aimlessly around before being shepherded onto the correct path. All of the staff here were endlessly helpful and very willing to talk at length about the ship and its history. This was both interesting and genuinely impressive. Then we joined a tour to the stygian depths and it was like you had entered another world. Below the waterline you find room after room of colossal machinery, Victorian dials and scary looking pipework. It's such a contrast to the public areas and you can only imagine what it was like to work down here. After all of this exploration you work up quite an appetite. Luckily the ship offers both a restaurant and the more atmospheric Captain's Lounge. We enjoyed a light snack in the latter and were again impressed by the service that we received. A lovely way to round off a fascinating afternoon.

very mixed feelings about this one. the ship is great. not amazing, but good to go and spend the day my boyfriend and i spent a night here... and this I don't think is really worth it. the shower was terrible, with a very low edge that made the water pour over every time you moved. the beds aren't the best either. we had booked a full tour and this was very disappointing. not only it was done in dutch (if this is the ONLY option, you should say it on the website so people decide wether to do/pay for it or not). but instead of recommending us to do it the next day where there was more time, we started it in the afternoon and wasn't able to access some rooms before they closed at 17. think the communication should have been way better here, but they were nice and polite. would totally recommend to spend a few hours, go for some drinks and get some food... but not to stay. one night is way more than enough! the ship is in good condition but could be better considering how busy it is. well conserved though.
