More than 35 years ago, in 1986, Montèl was founded by Ger Nijman, the father of current General Manager Bram Nijman.
The Montèl brand specializes in making sofas.
The first Montèl branch was opened in Hilversum and was aimed at the Gooise public.
The aim was to create a collection for people with more taste than money, with an emphasis on an affordable price.
The sofa models were largely devised by Ger Nijman himself and were placed in a luxurious environment by the customer, but in the end were not that expensive.
This idea of more design for less money is still the core of the company.
Montèl has grown into the largest seating specialist in the Netherlands and now offers affordable design for everyone.
Montèl's credo is therefore: 'The sofa is beautiful, the price even more beautiful'.
