The Albeda College, founded in 1997, bears its name in honor of Wil Albeda, an influential Dutch politician and native of Rotterdam. As Minister of Social Affairs in the Van Agt I cabinet (1977-1981), Albeda actively campaigned for better working conditions and the promotion of vocational education. His social-Christian vision of life and dedication to the city of Rotterdam were the driving force behind his efforts, which resulted in his legacy. Albeda College, by linking its name to him, wants to promote these values and pay tribute to his contributions to society.

With locations spread across Barendrecht, Hellevoetsluis, Maassluis, Middelharnis, Naaldwijk, Oude-Tonge, Poortugaal, Rhoon, Rotterdam, Schiedam, Spijkenisse, and Vlaardingen, Albeda College offers approximately 120 courses in various learning paths. The courses vary from beauty and fashion to technology and healthcare, and are developed in collaboration with local authorities, companies and government institutions. This collaboration ensures that the training courses meet the needs of the labor market and society as a whole.

The courses are divided into 15 colleges, each with their own specialization, ranging from Beauty & Fashion to Technology and Healthcare.
