Recently, the NVWA (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) conducted a study into the health risks of latex balloons. It was investigated whether soft balloons release too much of the carcinogenic substance nitrosamine and whether the balloons come with a warning label stating that balloons are made of latex with the phrase 'Made from natural rubber latex.' Some people are allergic to latex products. The label must also indicate how to use balloons safely and a warning that there is a risk of suffocation for children under the age of 8 from uninflated or burst balloons.
Risk of nitrosamines
Nitrosamines are carcinogenic substances and therefore pose a health risk because small children can ingest these substances by sucking on balloons or through contact with hands and mouth. Latex balloons do not cause much exposure to these nitrosamines, but as a precaution the government wants to prevent any exposure of small children to dangerous substances and that is why they have imposed strict requirements on the release of these substances.
Warning label
There are people who are allergic to latex and therefore the packaging of balloons must have a label clearly stating that balloons are made of latex with the phrase 'Made from natural rubber latex.' The label must also indicate how to use the balloons safely and a warning that there is a risk of suffocation from empty or burst balloons for children under the age of 8.
Globos Balloons
Globos supplies various brands of balloons in the different parts of its company. For example, we mainly decorate with the balloon brands Qualatex and/or Sempertex because they are simply the best quality balloons. The balloons that we print are mainly from the brands Belbal and Gemar because these balloons are harder than other brands of balloons and are therefore easier to print. The balloons that we sell in our balloon wholesaler are all from the Globos Payaso brand. All these brands of balloons have been found safe by the NVWA, see the NVWA research results.
PLEASE NOTE!
The Happy Balloons from the brand 'Globos Decorativos' performed very poorly in the test and are therefore prohibited. Please do not confuse this brand with Globos Payaso. Globos literally means 'Balloons' in Spanish, so many brands use the name Globos in their brand. This also applies to this cheap rubbish from China.
Because we also sell balloons individually, they may not be delivered in the original packaging (after all, a full package is often a bag of 25, 50 or 100 balloons) and that is why you will always find the following with such an order warning label. We offer the guarantee that these balloons are exclusively from one of the above brands and are therefore 100% safe.
